COMMUNITY STANDARDS
The HSBC Business Network is governed by the following set of standards that will apply to all community members and their posts. We reserve the right to refuse, in our absolute discretion, to allow or delay posting of all or any part of any material and to edit or remove any material posted including without limiting the above any material that does not (in our judgment) comply with these standards and to revoke posting privileges at our discretion. In most instances, however, registered community members will receive an email warning of offending behaviour and repeated warnings may result in that member being banned from the HSBC Business Network. Our decisions are considered final.
- Please be respectful and civil to other HSBC Business Network members, Start-Up Stars, Experts, Moderators, Guests, and Business Specialists even if you disagree with them.
- Vulgar, profane, defamatory, inaccurate, or sexually graphic content (posts, member names, subject lines, images, etc.) is not allowed.
- We do not tolerate harassing, threatening, racist, abusive, hateful, violent, or obscene language or behaviour.
- Participation in, suggesting, or encouraging any illegal activity is cause for immediate deletion and suspension of posting privileges, and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Any articles, news reports, or other copyrighted material included in the posts must be with the permission of the relevant copyright owners. If there is no evidence of such permission, posting may be refused.
- Do not flood or spam, or post chain letters, pyramid schemes, junk mail, etc.
- No commercial solicitation or advertising will be allowed.
- Requests for investors or capital for your business are not acceptable.
- This is a public discussion forum. Do not post personal or any other information that you do not want to be widely available.
- Under no circumstances should you share or post your bank or other financial details with other members of the community.
- Please be advised that because your User ID will be viewable by the entire community, you may not want to use your full name as your User ID. Also, you should understand that the following optional information that you post in your member profile will be viewable to all visitors of the site: Image, Business Name, Signature, Occupation, Homepage URL and Biography.
- Please keep in mind that other members or participants in the HSBC Business Network may claim expertise or status (legal, financial, medical, etc) that they do not, in fact, possess. Thoughtful discretion should be given to all advice given by other community users who are not a recognisable HSBC Expert or Business Specialist.
- The views expressed by community members on the community do not necessarily reflect those of HSBC Bank plc or any other HSBC Group Members.
- The HSBC Group shall have the rights in all postings on the HSBC Business Network as are specified in our Business Banking Website Terms and Conditions (see link at bottom of page).
USER GENERATED CONTENT CODE OF CONDUCT (HSBC Business Network Code)
You shall be solely responsible for all content and the consequences of posting it on the website. You agree not to submit any content that will:
- Violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or other proprietary or intellectual property right belonging to any third-party (i.e. music, movie )
- Violate the privacy or publicity rights of any person
- Contain pornography, sexually explicit or defamatory content
- Contain any criminal or illegal acts
- Contain any violent or dangerous acts
- Contain any information that is not accurate or relevant to the HSBC Business Network
Your Information
Your information will be used by us (HSBC Bank plc) to manage your access to the HSBC Business Network.
We will also analyse the ratio of customers to non-customers using the HSBC Business Network.
Your email address will NOT be used to market to you.
We may, if we deem it relevant to any online content, whether involving us or any other parties, provide you with information about our services and products. We may do this by making a post on any discussion group or other part of the HSBC Business Network, or providing you with a link to a relevant webpage. We will not use your email address to communicate with you in this way.

Click on the above link to go to the section governing your participation in the HSBC Business Network. These provisions among other things explain the rights we will have and the use to which we will put your and your firm’s information.
Your use of this site including the HSBC Business Network will be governed by the above Community Standards; HSBC Business Network Code; Your Information provisions and the Business Banking Website Terms and Conditions (referred to together as ‘the Conditions’).
Violation of any of the Conditions may result in a warning, notification, removal of offending content or termination of your account.
